The yellow fungus can be described as a living fungus that is found on the surface of your skin. The fungi are known to cause infections can be caused by several different fungi. Yellow fungus is generally a misnomer of another term and unfortunately has no universal meaning. In its more common form, yellow is the color of pus formed when there is some sort of infection. Then, added on there can be a fungal proliferation of an assortment of species.

Transmission of Yellow Fungus

It is not difficult for an infection to spread from one area of the skin to another. Most of the time it occurs because there are moist areas. In some cases, white patches may appear on the gums. While this type of fungal infection occurs more commonly in older adults, young children can also contract the condition. Some immunosuppressed people may develop an infection. These individuals include people undergoing chemotherapy or those undergoing an HIV treatment regimen.


While the majority of symptoms associated with yellow fungus symptoms are generally mild; they can be quite debilitating, especially if you suffer from severe symptoms such as pustules, lesions, and severe itching. If you suspect that you may have a fungal infection with sunken eyes; then you must consult with a physician right away. A physician will perform a series of tests to confirm whether or not you infected with a fungal infection; these tests include a thorough examination of your face, neck, and ears; as well as an evaluation of your organs and lymphatic system.
